Overview
CyberSecAudit is an owned security and monitoring project focused on the operational condition of a public asset and the quality of its supporting technical documentation.
Monitoring is read-only. The project separates observed facts, working hypotheses, risk classification, and results that have not yet been proven.
Purpose
The project maintains read-only visibility into the condition of an owned public asset. It also provides a structured record for operational status, risk classification, and post-change checks.
Monitoring areas
- 01Availability
- 02DNS
- 03TLS
- 04Security headers
- 05Sitemap health
- 06Crawler accessibility
- 07Public funnel
Security checks
Checks cover availability, DNS, TLS, security headers, sitemap health, crawler accessibility, and the public funnel. The scope stays limited to observable conditions on the owned asset.
Operational verification
After a change, the relevant surface is checked again and the result is recorded in technical documentation or an operational status report. This creates a traceable comparison without turning an observation into an unsupported security claim.
Methodology
- Establish a read-only baseline for the owned asset.
- Review each monitoring surface individually.
- Record the observed condition and its operational context.
- Separate facts, hypotheses, risk classification, and unproven results.
- Repeat the relevant check after a change.
Lessons learned
Useful monitoring depends on repeatable checks, clear documentation, and disciplined claim boundaries. A recorded observation becomes more useful when it can be compared after a change and traced to the surface that produced it.
Project boundaries
- The monitored asset is owned.
- Monitoring activities are read-only.
- Facts, hypotheses, and unproven results remain separated.
- No client engagement or third-party system is implied.
